Our
PROJECTS
The KG CupsFor the 2018-2019 BC Green games, The King George Earth Club created reusable cups and distributed them to students at their high school. The cups helped combat the use of one time use cups, as they could be washed and reused over and over again. The cups also provided discounts at local stores such as Blenz Coffee. The King George Earth Club was named a "Leader in Environmental Action" by the BC Green games contest, and won a Green Grant for their actions.

On Thin IceIn a partnership with K.A Colorado, The King George Earth Club created an art piece featuring ice cores and students poetry. Ice Cores are cylinders of extracted ice that contain information about the Earth throughout time. The art piece is symbolic of the artic ice melting, and vital information from the ice cores being lost. The art piece resides in the halls of King George Secondary.

The Recycling Education ProgrammIn 2019-2020, members of The King George Earth Club learned about recycling contamination. Recycling contamination is when recyclables mix with non recyclables in the recycling bin. This leads to the bin being thrown out, and good recyclables not making it to where they belong. The members then went on to educate younger grades at Lord Roberts Elementary School through fun games and videos.
